At Wilson and Partners, we know your pets are part of your family and our priority is, and always will be, to ensure they have access to the very best care, no matter what time of day or night it is.
Our practice has grown considerably over the past few years but the workforce shortage of vets in Scotland has meant we have all been working longer to try to meet appointment demands, particularly when cases are urgent.
For this reason, we have made a recent change to our weekend out-of-hours provision, partnering with Vets Now, a dedicated pet emergency service that provides experienced emergency care from their practices in both Kirkcaldy and Dundee and already serves many of our neighbouring practices. Their veterinary teams are specially trained in emergency and critical care and work only out of hours providing 24-hour treatment and monitoring of critically ill patients.
Our new out-of-hours weekend service starts on Friday 7th July 2023.
During our normal opening hours and Monday-Thursday 24 hours per day, there will be no change in our service with our own vets providing our out-of-hours service and care for hospitalised patients.
We will now run an extended clinic at Cupar on a Saturday from 8.30am-4pm for any urgent cases that may need to be seen over the weekend. Saturday morning clinics at our Leven and St Andrew’s practice will operate appointments as normal.
If your pet falls ill between the hours of 8pm Friday - 8.30am Saturday and 4pm Saturday - 8.30am Monday, you can talk to the Vets Now team who will be happy to talk through your concerns. Any critically ill patients who need to be hospitalised over the weekend will be cared for 24 hours per day by the Vets Now team.
Please continue to call us as normal, then you will be directed to Vets Now for further assistance.
If you have any questions about this new service, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
